A private chef is a chef who is hired by clients to prepare and cook meals to order in the comfort of the client's home. Clients communicate needs and preferences, and the private chef takes care of the shopping, cooking, and cleaning.
Why would I want to hire a private chef?
Have you ever wanted a gourmet meal but felt dissatisfied at the thought of leaving your couch? Or displeased by the thought of a noisy restaurant? Whether you're a Durango local, or a tourist passing through, sometimes it's nice to shake up your food scene. I love our restaurants as much as the next person, but sometimes I want something different. Enter, a Durango private chef.
What is included if I hire a private chef?
I can't speak on behalf of other private chefs, but I can share what you get if you hire me. I take care of menu planning, grocery shopping, prep work, cooking, and cleaning!
About how much do your services cost?
It depends. A vegetarian meal prepared in the comfort of your home averages $100 per person (this includes four courses with a minimum of four diners). For meals that include meat and seafood, expect around $120 per person (again, this includes a minimum of four participants and four courses). For service within the Durango city limits, there is no additional transportation cost. For service outside of Durango city limits, clients pay standard mileage rates.
How many diners can you accommodate?
My rates include a minimum of four diners and a maximum of twelve. If your guest list falls on either side of that range, please reach out directly to discuss custom pricing.
What if I'm staying at Purgatory or Silverton?
I service the whole Four Corners area. Which is to say, I am happy travel to you! Let's make your ski-all-day and eat-all-night dreams come true. (Or bike-all-day and eat-all-night. Hike-all-day. You get the point.)
